The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Hartishek plotted against Somali and Ethiopia. While Somali and Ethiopia both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Hartishek's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Hartishek's incremental SNDi rose from 0.56 to 0.92 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Hartishek ranked 1st out of 12 cities in Somali and 1st out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Hartishek fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Shipu built increasingly connected streets over time and Çarşamba built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Hartishek and Çarşamba both became progressively more disconnected, while Shipu became progressively more connected.
