The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Negele plotted against Oromia and Ethiopia. The SNDi of new construction in Negele peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Oromia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Ethiopia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Negele's incremental SNDi fell from 1.91 to 1.88 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Negele ranked 2nd out of 71 cities in Oromia and 12th out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Negele built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Xipeng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Teófilo Otoni built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Negele and Teófilo Otoni both became progressively more disconnected, while Xipeng grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved.
