The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Naqamte plotted against Oromia and Ethiopia. The SNDi of new construction in Naqamte rose steadily, compared to Oromia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Ethiopia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Naqamte's incremental SNDi rose from 2.47 to 4.16 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Naqamte ranked 46th out of 71 cities in Oromia and 112th out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Naqamte built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Khasavyurt built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Lichinga built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Naqamte and Lichinga both became progressively more disconnected, while Khasavyurt grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Naqamte had a more connected network than Lichinga in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
