The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Meslo plotted against Oromia and Ethiopia. All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Meslo's incremental SNDi rose from 2.62 to 3.39 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Meslo ranked 32nd out of 71 cities in Oromia and 77th out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Meslo and Sougueur both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Bishnupur fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Meslo and Sougueur both became progressively more disconnected, while Bishnupur became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Meslo and Sougueur have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
