The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Huruta plotted against Oromia and Ethiopia. The SNDi of new construction in Huruta rose steadily, compared to Oromia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Ethiopia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Huruta's incremental SNDi rose from 3.31 to 3.86 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Huruta ranked 43rd out of 71 cities in Oromia and 106th out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Huruta and Nagari both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Guriel fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Huruta and Nagari both became progressively more disconnected, while Guriel fluctuated in connectivity. Huruta and Guriel have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
