All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Dambidollo's incremental SNDi rose from 1.95 to 2.89 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dambidollo ranked 17th out of 71 cities in Oromia and 47th out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dambidollo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Kirumba built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Narkatiaganj built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Dambidollo and Narkatiaganj both became progressively more disconnected, while Kirumba became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards.
