The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Chiro plotted against Oromia and Ethiopia. The SNDi of new construction in Chiro rose steadily, compared to Oromia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Ethiopia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Chiro's incremental SNDi rose from 5.96 to 10.08 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Chiro ranked 66th out of 71 cities in Oromia and 165th out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Chiro built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Nikli built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Yuanzhou fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Chiro and Nikli both became progressively more disconnected, while Yuanzhou fluctuated in connectivity.
