The SNDi of new construction in Asmara peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Maekel which rose steadily and Eritrea which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Asmara's incremental SNDi fell from 2.08 to 1.76 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In new street additions, Asmara and Granada both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Jiashan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Asmara became progressively more disconnected, while Granada grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Jiashan fluctuated in connectivity.
