The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Chalchuapa plotted against Santa Ana and El Salvador. The SNDi of new construction in Chalchuapa followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Santa Ana which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and El Salvador which rose steadily. Most recently, Chalchuapa's incremental SNDi rose from 3.87 to 4.52 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Chalchuapa ranked 1st out of 2 cities in Santa Ana and 3rd out of 12 in El Salvador as of 2020.

In new street additions, Chalchuapa and Benidorm both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Vĩnh Trụ built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Chalchuapa and Benidorm both became progressively more disconnected, while Vĩnh Trụ became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Chalchuapa and Benidorm have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
