What about similarly populated cities?
While Batumi and Lingling both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, Marsa Matruh fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full network, Marsa Matruh and Batumi both became progressively more disconnected, while Lingling grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Marsa Matruh had a more sprawly network than Batumi in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
