The SNDi of new construction in Sidi Salim rose steadily, compared to Kafr ash Shaykh which peaked in 1991-2005 and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Sidi Salim's incremental SNDi rose from 2.64 to 2.77 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Sidi Salim ranked 3rd out of 7 cities in Kafr ash Shaykh and 20th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Sidi Salim built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Nabadwip built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Xiyang built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Sidi Salim and Nabadwip both became progressively more disconnected, while Xiyang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Sidi Salim had a more connected network than Xiyang in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
