The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Sarawa plotted against Kafr ash Shaykh and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Sarawa rose steadily, compared to Kafr ash Shaykh which peaked in 1991-2005 and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Sarawa's incremental SNDi rose from 3.31 to 4.28 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Sarawa ranked 5th out of 7 cities in Kafr ash Shaykh and 54th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

Sarawa, Van Gia Town, and Xianfeng all built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street construction. For the full network, Sarawa and Van Gia Town both became progressively more disconnected, while Xianfeng became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards.
