The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Sumusta plotted against Bani Suwayf and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Sumusta was at its lowest in 1976-1990, compared to Bani Suwayf which rose steadily and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Sumusta's incremental SNDi rose from 2.56 to 2.89 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Sumusta ranked 1st out of 12 cities in Bani Suwayf and 44th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

In new street additions, Sumusta built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Fuyu fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Barhampur built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Sumusta became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Fuyu became progressively more disconnected and Barhampur became progressively more connected. Sumusta and Fuyu have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
