The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Um el Qusur plotted against Asyut and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Um el Qusur peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Asyut which rose steadily and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Um el Qusur's incremental SNDi fell from 5.85 to 4.66 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Um el Qusur ranked 12th out of 18 cities in Asyut and 160th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.
