The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Al Halawat plotted against Ash Sharqiyah and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Al Halawat peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Ash Sharqiyah which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Al Halawat's incremental SNDi fell from 2.37 to 2.25 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Al Halawat ranked 2nd out of 28 cities in Ash Sharqiyah and 16th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Al Halawat and Cái Dầu have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
