The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Al Abbasa al Sharqiya plotted against Ash Sharqiyah and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Al Abbasa al Sharqiya followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Ash Sharqiyah which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Al Abbasa al Sharqiya's incremental SNDi fell from 3.13 to 2.84 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Al Abbasa al Sharqiya ranked 19th out of 28 cities in Ash Sharqiyah and 86th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Katihar and Resistencia both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Al Abbasa al Sharqiya fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Katihar and Resistencia both became progressively more disconnected, while Al Abbasa al Sharqiya became progressively more connected. Notably, Al Abbasa al Sharqiya had a more sprawly network than Katihar in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
