The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Makein plotted against Al Minya and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Makein was at its lowest in 1991-2005, compared to Al Minya which rose steadily and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Makein's incremental SNDi rose from 6.1 to 10.18 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Makein ranked 22nd out of 24 cities in Al Minya and 200th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

In new street additions, Makein built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Gyeongju-si built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Einme built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Makein became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards, while Gyeongju-si became progressively more disconnected and Einme grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Makein and Einme have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
