The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Maghagha plotted against Al Minya and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Maghagha followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Al Minya which rose steadily and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Maghagha's incremental SNDi fell from 4.51 to 4.39 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Maghagha ranked 11th out of 24 cities in Al Minya and 139th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Maghagha fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Pingtung City fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Linquan built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Maghagha became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Pingtung City became progressively more disconnected and Linquan became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards.
