The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Shunufa plotted against Al Minufiyah and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Shunufa was at its lowest in 1976-1990, compared to Al Minufiyah which rose steadily and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Shunufa's incremental SNDi rose from 2.89 to 3.63 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Shunufa ranked 5th out of 15 cities in Al Minufiyah and 69th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Shunufa and Payas both built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Villa de Cura built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Shunufa and Payas both became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Villa de Cura became progressively more disconnected. Shunufa and Villa de Cura have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
