The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Shibin Al-Kom plotted against Al Minufiyah and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Shibin Al-Kom rose steadily, compared to Al Minufiyah which rose steadily and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Shibin Al-Kom's incremental SNDi rose from 3.37 to 3.83 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Shibin Al-Kom ranked 4th out of 15 cities in Al Minufiyah and 58th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
Shibin Al-Kom, 市中区, and Mansehra all built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street construction. For the full network, Shibin Al-Kom and 市中区 both became progressively more disconnected, while Mansehra became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Shibin Al-Kom and 市中区 have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
