The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zirbi plotted against Al Fayyum and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Zirbi rose steadily, compared to Al Fayyum which peaked in 1976-1990 and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zirbi's incremental SNDi rose from 5.82 to 6.45 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zirbi ranked 11th out of 13 cities in Al Fayyum and 170th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zirbi and Douai both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Pisa fluctuated in its street-construction patterns.
