The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Faiyum plotted against Al Fayyum and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Faiyum peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Al Fayyum which peaked in 1976-1990 and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Faiyum's incremental SNDi fell from 3.92 to 3.14 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Faiyum ranked 3rd out of 13 cities in Al Fayyum and 61st out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

In new street additions, Faiyum built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Ribeirao Preto built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Rasoi fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Faiyum and Ribeirao Preto both became progressively more disconnected, while Rasoi fluctuated in connectivity. Faiyum and Rasoi have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
