The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Atsa plotted against Al Fayyum and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Atsa rose steadily, compared to Al Fayyum which peaked in 1976-1990 and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Atsa's incremental SNDi rose from 5.19 to 6.37 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Atsa ranked 5th out of 13 cities in Al Fayyum and 119th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

In new street additions, Atsa built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Toowoomba built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Fuyuan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Atsa and Toowoomba both became progressively more disconnected, while Fuyuan became progressively more connected. Atsa and Toowoomba have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
