The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dirin plotted against Ad Daqahliyah and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in Dirin was at its lowest in 1976-1990, compared to Ad Daqahliyah which peaked in 1991-2005 and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dirin's incremental SNDi rose from 2.15 to 2.55 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dirin ranked 3rd out of 22 cities in Ad Daqahliyah and 17th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

For the full network, Dirin and Chandpara both became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Ouahigouya became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards.
