The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with بطره plotted against Ad Daqahliyah and Egypt. The SNDi of new construction in بطره rose steadily, compared to Ad Daqahliyah which peaked in 1991-2005 and Egypt which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, بطره's incremental SNDi rose from 4.89 to 5.69 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, بطره ranked 19th out of 22 cities in Ad Daqahliyah and 154th out of 213 in Egypt as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, بطره built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Dörtyol fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Vijapur built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, بطره and Vijapur both became progressively more disconnected, while Dörtyol fluctuated in connectivity. بطره and Dörtyol have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
