The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kanyabayonga plotted against Nord-Kivu and Democratic Republic of the Congo. The SNDi of new construction in Kanyabayonga rose steadily, compared to Nord-Kivu which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Democratic Republic of the Congo which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kanyabayonga's incremental SNDi rose from 6.98 to 9.49 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kanyabayonga ranked 13th out of 16 cities in Nord-Kivu and 175th out of 186 in Democratic Republic of the Congo as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Kanyabayonga and خان آباد both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Pukchang fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Kanyabayonga and خان آباد both became progressively more disconnected, while Pukchang became progressively more connected. Notably, Kanyabayonga had a more connected network than Pukchang in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
