The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Lukula plotted against Kongo-Central and Democratic Republic of the Congo. While Kongo-Central and Democratic Republic of the Congo both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Lukula's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Lukula's incremental SNDi rose from 3.08 to 3.38 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Lukula ranked 10th out of 15 cities in Kongo-Central and 116th out of 186 in Democratic Republic of the Congo as of 2020.

In new street additions, Lukula and Fazendinha 13 both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Ibitinga built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Lukula grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Ibitinga became progressively more disconnected and Fazendinha 13 fluctuated in connectivity. Lukula and Ibitinga have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
