The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Sakania plotted against Haut-Katanga and Democratic Republic of the Congo. While Haut-Katanga and Democratic Republic of the Congo both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Sakania's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Sakania's incremental SNDi rose from 1.48 to 1.81 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Sakania ranked 4th out of 17 cities in Haut-Katanga and 15th out of 186 in Democratic Republic of the Congo as of 2020.

In new street additions, Sakania fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Haylan built increasingly connected streets over time and Bute Town built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Sakania became progressively more disconnected, while Haylan became progressively more connected and Bute Town grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Sakania and Haylan have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
