The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Girón plotted against Santander and Colombia. The SNDi of new construction in Girón peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Santander which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Colombia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Girón's incremental SNDi fell from 4.62 to 4.04 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Girón ranked 4th out of 4 cities in Santander and 75th out of 83 in Colombia as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Girón built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Brikama fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Qambar built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Girón and Brikama both became progressively more disconnected, while Qambar became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Girón and Qambar have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
