The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Tumaco plotted against Nariño and Colombia. The SNDi of new construction in Tumaco was at its lowest in 1991-2005, compared to Nariño which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Colombia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Tumaco's incremental SNDi rose from 3.06 to 4.66 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tumaco ranked 3rd out of 3 cities in Nariño and 70th out of 83 in Colombia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Tumaco built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Tchin-Tabaraden built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Al built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Tumaco became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards, while Tchin-Tabaraden became progressively more disconnected and Al grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Tumaco had a more sprawly network than Tchin-Tabaraden in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
