The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhiying plotted against Zhejiang and China. The SNDi of new construction in Zhiying fell steadily, compared to Zhejiang which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhiying's incremental SNDi fell from 5.7 to 4.64 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhiying ranked 114th out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 1810th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Xiqu District and Ciudad Valles both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Zhiying built increasingly connected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Zhiying became progressively more connected, while Xiqu District fluctuated in connectivity and Ciudad Valles became progressively more disconnected. Zhiying and Xiqu District have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
