The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhapu plotted against Zhejiang and China. All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Zhapu's incremental SNDi rose from 2.35 to 2.75 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhapu ranked 57th out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 803rd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zhapu and Hadero both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Warwick built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Hadero and Warwick both became progressively more disconnected, while Zhapu grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Zhapu and Hadero have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
