The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Xietang plotted against Zhejiang and China. The SNDi of new construction in Xietang fell steadily, compared to Zhejiang which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Xietang's incremental SNDi fell from 2.66 to 2.27 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Xietang ranked 37th out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 637th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Xietang built increasingly connected streets over time, while Anyue built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Lixin built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Looking at the full network, Anyue and Lixin both became progressively more disconnected, while Xietang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Xietang and Anyue have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
