The SNDi of new construction in Tonglu County fell steadily, compared to Zhejiang which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Tonglu County's incremental SNDi fell from 1.84 to 1.66 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tonglu County ranked 5th out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 183rd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Tonglu County built increasingly connected streets over time, while Fik' built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Mufulira fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. Looking at the full network, Fik' and Mufulira both fluctuated in connectivity, while Tonglu County became progressively more connected. Notably, Tonglu County had a more sprawly network than Fik' in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
