The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Taishun plotted against Zhejiang and China. The SNDi of new construction in Taishun peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Zhejiang which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Taishun's incremental SNDi fell from 2.24 to 1.89 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Taishun ranked 11th out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 235th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Taishun built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Phù Yên built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Dakri built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Taishun grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Phù Yên became progressively more disconnected and Dakri became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Taishun and Phù Yên have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
