The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Cicheng plotted against Zhejiang and China. The SNDi of new construction in Cicheng peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Zhejiang which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Cicheng's incremental SNDi fell from 2.92 to 2.61 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Cicheng ranked 51st out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 751st out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Cicheng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Las Cruces built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Thohoyandou built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Las Cruces and Thohoyandou both became progressively more disconnected, while Cicheng grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Cicheng and Las Cruces have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
