All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Changxing's incremental SNDi rose from 2.9 to 3.1 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Changxing ranked 66th out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 948th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Changxing and Siwan both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Al Harafsha fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Changxing and Siwan both became progressively more disconnected, while Al Harafsha fluctuated in connectivity. Changxing and Al Harafsha have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
