The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Cangnan plotted against Zhejiang and China. The SNDi of new construction in Cangnan rose steadily, compared to Zhejiang which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Cangnan's incremental SNDi rose from 2.62 to 4.44 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Cangnan ranked 54th out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 766th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Cangnan and Ngaoundéré both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Famenin built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Cangnan and Ngaoundéré both became progressively more disconnected, while Famenin became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Notably, Cangnan had a more connected network than Famenin in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
