All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Anji's incremental SNDi rose from 1.73 to 2.05 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Anji ranked 3rd out of 116 cities in Zhejiang and 178th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Anji and Harar both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Xinyi fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Anji and Harar both became progressively more disconnected, while Xinyi fluctuated in connectivity. Anji and Xinyi have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
