The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Yichezhen plotted against Yunnan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Yichezhen followed a zig-zag trend, compared to Yunnan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Yichezhen's incremental SNDi fell from 3.46 to 2.48 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Yichezhen ranked 55th out of 78 cities in Yunnan and 1394th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Segamat and Berrouaghia both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Yichezhen fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full network, Yichezhen fluctuated in connectivity, while Segamat became progressively more disconnected and Berrouaghia grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Yichezhen and Segamat have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
