The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Tengchong plotted against Yunnan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Tengchong rose steadily, compared to Yunnan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Tengchong's incremental SNDi rose from 5.06 to 6.67 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tengchong ranked 71st out of 78 cities in Yunnan and 1718th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Tangyan and Sira both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Tengchong built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Tengchong and Tangyan both became progressively more disconnected, while Sira fluctuated in connectivity. Tengchong and Tangyan have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
