The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Suijiang plotted against Yunnan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Suijiang followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Yunnan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Suijiang's incremental SNDi rose from 5.3 to 6.47 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Suijiang ranked 77th out of 78 cities in Yunnan and 1807th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Suijiang fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Beni Adi built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Fengfeng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Suijiang became progressively more connected, while Beni Adi became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Fengfeng became progressively more disconnected. Suijiang and Beni Adi have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
