The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Shilin plotted against Yunnan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Shilin peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Yunnan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Shilin's incremental SNDi fell from 2.38 to 1.72 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Shilin ranked 10th out of 78 cities in Yunnan and 340th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Shilin built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Enarotali fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Haria Hossainpur fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Shilin grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Enarotali fluctuated in connectivity and Haria Hossainpur fluctuated in connectivity. Shilin and Haria Hossainpur have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
