All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Jinghong's incremental SNDi rose from 4.12 to 4.45 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Jinghong ranked 66th out of 78 cities in Yunnan and 1594th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Jinghong fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Abraka built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Fengcheng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Jinghong and Abraka both became progressively more disconnected, while Fengcheng grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Jinghong and Abraka have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
