All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Chuxiong's incremental SNDi rose from 2.46 to 2.47 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Chuxiong ranked 15th out of 78 cities in Yunnan and 474th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
Chuxiong, Macapá, and Bhiwadi all fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street construction. For the full network, Chuxiong and Macapá both became progressively more disconnected, while Bhiwadi fluctuated in connectivity. Chuxiong and Macapá have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
