The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zhaishang plotted against Tianjin and China. The SNDi of new construction in Zhaishang peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Tianjin which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zhaishang's incremental SNDi fell from 4.39 to 3.2 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zhaishang ranked 10th out of 16 cities in Tianjin and 1220th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zhaishang and Natore both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Miyazaki built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Miyazaki and Natore both became progressively more disconnected, while Zhaishang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Zhaishang had a more sprawly network than Natore in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
