All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. In terms of the aggregate network, Xuyong ranked 55th out of 98 cities in Sichuan and 1166th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Xuyong and Urgut both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Bush built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Xuyong grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Bush became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards and Urgut fluctuated in connectivity. Xuyong and Urgut have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
