The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Wanyuan plotted against Sichuan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Wanyuan peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Sichuan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Wanyuan's incremental SNDi fell from 3.76 to 2.4 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Wanyuan ranked 58th out of 98 cities in Sichuan and 1243rd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Wanyuan and Weston-super-Mare both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Yelets built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Weston-super-Mare and Yelets both became progressively more disconnected, while Wanyuan grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Wanyuan and Yelets have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
