The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Emeishan plotted against Sichuan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Emeishan peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Sichuan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Emeishan's incremental SNDi fell from 3.45 to 2.75 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Emeishan ranked 49th out of 98 cities in Sichuan and 1068th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Emeishan and Menongue both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Mbale City fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Emeishan and Menongue both grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Mbale City became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Emeishan had a more connected network than Menongue in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
