The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dongsheng plotted against Sichuan and China. The SNDi of new construction in Dongsheng followed a zig-zag trend, compared to Sichuan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dongsheng's incremental SNDi rose from 1.97 to 2.63 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dongsheng ranked 26th out of 98 cities in Sichuan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dongsheng fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Haiyuan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Gamawa fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Dongsheng fluctuated in connectivity, while Haiyuan became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Gamawa fluctuated in connectivity. Dongsheng and Haiyuan have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
